9. What are the requirements to become a Fellow of Expert Medical Consultants involved in active medico-legal case review?

EMC restricts the designation of Fellow to physicians and specialists meeting the following requirements:

  • Board certification in a medical specialty, with recertification as required. For specialties not requiring board certification, an applicant must meet the criteria required by the trial court for experts in the medical specialty.
  • Be actively involved in current clinical practice within specialty.
  • Membership in national specialty and pertinent sub-specialty organizations.
  • Maintain appropriate continuing education within specialty.
